Emphasis on representing his clients' best interests
Mr. Browne is devoted to cost effectively and efficiently representing the best interests of his clients. Sometimes this can be done by simply counseling people as to how to best proceed to solve a legal problem or to comply with an applicable law or regulation. Other times situations can be resolved by preparing agreements or other papers. If a dispute has already occurred or a claim has been presented, Mr. Browne will first attempt to achieve a favorable out of court resolution for a client. Sometimes this can be done directly, sometimes with a lawyer for the opposing party. Other times alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedures such as third party mediation or arbitration are in a client's best interests. If a claim is presented against a client, Mr. Browne will do his best to avoid litigation for his client, assuming that this can be done in a manner that protects the client's best interests. Other times litigation is unavoidable. When it's advisable to litigate, Mr. Browne is committed to litigate aggressively and swiftly, using all the tools at his disposal. Mr. Browne believes in fighting hard for his clients, but doing so fairly and ethically, extending every reasonable courtesy to opposing counsel whenever possible. Although occasionally it is necessary to take a personal stand against an obstreperous opposing lawyer, most mature lawyers know better than to spend a client's time and money engaging in personal disputes with other lawyers. As a well-known trial lawyer from Los Angeles once said: "I don't send a letter when a phone call will do, and I don't file a motion when a letter will do." |
