How I have helped

(1) Irene Parodi was allergic to cigarette smoke in the mid-80's, before it became illegal to smoke in Federal work places. Ms. Parodi was denied disability retirement. Mr. Browne took her case all the way to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which issued a landmark decision reversing the earlier denial and granting Ms. Parodi's disability retirement. See Parodi, etc. (citation)

(2) A well-known Oakland CPA hired several lawyers to defend a claim that he mismanaged a trust for Mr. Browne's beneficiary clients. After a lengthy trial, the court awarded Mr. Browne's clients over $2,000,000.

(3) Mr. Browne successfully represented television personality Joe Carcione ("The Green Grocer") in a Federal Court securities fraud case. The defendants were represented by two well-known law firms.

(4) Mr. Browne represented around 100 investors, many of whom were blue collar individuals investing their savings, against a real estate developer. Mr. Browne obtained a judgment for fraud and recovered funds for his clients.

(5) Mr. Browne created a plan to dissolve a construction company which had financial problems and was embroiled in a number of lawsuits. Instead of placing the contractor in bankruptcy, Mr. Browne structured an arrangement in state court that eventually led to a 100 cents on the dollar payment of all creditors' claims and company debts.

(6) Mr. Browne recently obtained a successful settlement in a sexual harassment case against an employer in Federal Court in Los Angeles.

(7) Mr. Browne is presently handling a complex partition case involving millions of dollars of properties; i.e., income property in San Francisco and vineyard property in Sonoma County.

(8) Mr. Browne is presently handling a construction defect case for an upscale condominium complex in Los Altos in Santa Clara County. Fifteen law firms represent the defendant developer, contractor and subcontractors. As mentioned elsewhere, the case is easily management, as it is proceeding under the auspices of a Special Master who is limiting expensive and time consuming discovery proceedings.

(9) Mr. Browne is frequently contacted by attorneys who practice law in Indiana and in other jurisdictions to assist them in representing their clients' interests in California. Examples are handling ancillary probate proceedings, executing on California assets to collect foreign judgments and preparing pre-nuptial agreements involving property in California.

(10) Mr. Browne is presently handling a commercial eviction for a property manager client.
